Education

An integral part of the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center's services is the Blumenthal-Schor Education Center.  Our education center is a multi-faceted learning program that includes basic education, life skills and employment preparation.  All classes and services offered through our education center are FREE of charge to our clients.  Services offered include:

• GED preparation guidance
• Tutoring in mathematics, language arts and reading comprehension
• Classes in personal finances, budgeting and building credit
• Classes in interviewing skills and effective job searching
• Classes in personal health and self esteem

Computer Lab for Residents and Neighbors in Need
Our computer lab has a network system of ten work stations running Windows 2000, Microsoft Office 2000 and several teaching programs, including a keyboarding/typing tutorial and Office 2000 tutorials. Classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 PM to those interested in acquiring computer literacy. Open hours for computer use vary so call the main office 757-491-2846 or email us at jcoc@jcoc.org to schedule. We also have additional hours for residents to check email and perform job searches.
